By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform. This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically
We automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you access the Platform:

- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on Platform, clickstream data, search queries, and interaction patterns
- Log Data: Access times, error logs, referring URLs, and exit pages
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: Information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies

3. SMS and Text Messaging Communications
3.1 SMS Program Description
By providing your mobile phone number and expressly consenting to receive SMS messages, you explicitly agree to receive automated text messages from StudentMower related to Platform activity, service requests, and account notifications. These communications are transactional and operational in nature.
3.2 Types of SMS Messages
- Service request confirmations and status updates
- Notifications when Students respond to inquiries
- Scheduling reminders and changes
- Account security alerts and verification codes
- Platform updates and important announcements
3.3 Consent and Opt-Out Rights
Important SMS Terms:
- Consent Not Required: Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of using the Platform or purchasing any services
- Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your Platform activity and interactions
- Costs: Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier's plan
- Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately
- Help: Reply HELP for assistance or contact privacy@studentmower.com
- Carrier Liability: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
3.4 Mobile Number Privacy Protection
We treat mobile phone numbers with strict confidentiality. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your mobile phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number is used exclusively for Platform-related communications as described in this Policy.
3.5 SMS Service Providers
We use third-party service providers (including Twilio) to facilitate SMS communications. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to provide messaging services on our behalf. Supported carriers include major U.S. mobile networks. Carrier coverage may vary.
4. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Analytics
4.1 Types of Technologies Used
We use the following technologies to collect information:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 Platform Users
When you create a Student profile, certain information (such as your name, service area, availability, and profile details) becomes visible to Customers searching for services. When you submit a service request as a Customer, Students may view your name, location, and request details.
5.2 Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including:
- Cloud hosting and storage providers (e.g., Firebase, Google Cloud)
- SMS and email communication services (e.g., Twilio, SendGrid)
- Analytics and data processing services
- Security and fraud prevention services
- Customer support tools and services
These service providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
5.3 Legal Requirements and Protection
We may disclose information when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of StudentMower, users, or the public

- Account Information: Retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to facilitate Platform operations

- Technical and Log Data: Typically retained for 90-180 days unless needed for security or legal purposes
6.2 Deletion and Deactivation
When you request account deletion, we will deactivate your account and remove your profile from public view. However, we may retain certain information as needed for legitimate business purposes, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements. Retained information will not be publicly displayed or used for marketing purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
7.1 Security Measures Include:

8.1 Access and Correction

8.2 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@studentmower.com. Upon deletion:
- Your profile will be removed from public view
- You will no longer appear in search results
- Your account will be deactivated
- Certain information may be retained as described in Section 6.2
8.3 Communication Preferences
You may opt out of promotional communications (if any) by following unsubscribe instructions in those messages. You may opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP to any text message. Please note that you cannot opt out of certain transactional messages necessary for Platform operation.
8.4 Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Our Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no widely accepted standard for how to interpret such signals.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding your personal information.
9.1 Your CCPA Rights
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources of collection, purposes for collection, and third parties with whom information is shared
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions

To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at privacy@studentmower.com with "California Privacy Rights Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within 45 days.
9.3 Disclosure of Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share personal information only as described in Section 5 of this Policy.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the Platform or provide any information to us.
Students between the ages of 13 and 17 must obtain parental or guardian consent before using the Platform. We rely on users to truthfully represent their age and compliance with this requirement.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@studentmower.com.
11. International Users and Data Transfers
The Platform is operated from the United States and is intended primarily for users located in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and its processing as described in this Policy.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services not operated by StudentMower. This Policy does not apply to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification or displaying a prominent notice on the Platform.

14. Platform Disclaimer and User Responsibility
Important Platform Limitations:
StudentMower operates as a directory and communication platform only. We do not:
- Conduct background checks on Students or Customers
- Verify credentials, licenses, or qualifications
- Screen, evaluate, or endorse any user
- Supervise or monitor service delivery
- Guarantee quality, safety, or reliability of services
